I am trying to find Cornwall Park neighborhood members interested in gardening at the Roeder Home, or other volunteer events there. There will be some volunteer opportunities soon for gardening and I would particularly like to contact the people who volunteer at the Cornwall Park Rose Garden, or any others interested in doing some upkeep at the Roeder Home.

Thank you for your comment and utilizing the new website as a way to reach out to the board and neighborhood. I will see that your request is added to our agenda for the next board meeting. Terri Clarke, CPNA Area 4 Rep., is heading up our search for more volunteers. I’ll let her know about your request. Thanks again!

I have noticed most of the side walks around Broadway Park is in disrepair. Many sidewalk sections are damaged, which creates tripping hazards. At first, I thought it was just the sidewalk in front of my house. I did my own walking survey around the park and realized that the sidewalk is damaged in many locations. The sidewalk around Broadway Park is a popular walking and jogging route. Although this is not a major arterial, the sidewalks around Broadway Park are heavily used by the general public. Do the neighborhood reps present projects to Public Works for consideration for their annual sidewalk repair budget? I think we really should consider fixing all the damaged sidewalks around Broadway Park. I cannot attend the neighborhood meeting in July because I have a newborn and toddler at home.

Thank you for your comment, Gina. Our next board meeting will be on Tuesday, 19 July. I’ll pass on your comment to our board so this can be discussed at the next meeting. Also, I’d recommend coming to the annual potluck picnic on Tuesday, 9 August at Broadway Park. All board members will be present.

Any update on the sidewalks around Broadway Park?

Unfortunately, funds aren’t currently earmarked for repairs on the sidewalks in this area and probably won’t be for quite sometime. We did talk about this at the last board meeting. I’ll see that Rick Qualls contacts you via e-mail. Thanks!

I am a WWU student, and I am working on a project about the Cornwall Park Neighborhood and I stumbled upon this website. I wanted to ask any of the Association Board Members some questions regarding the neighborhood and if anyone from the board can respond, it would be much appreciated.
    1. What are two things that are unique to the neighborhood?
    2. What are three concerns of the neighborhood?
    3. What is your impression of crime in the neighborhood. Do those impressions match the stats?
    4. Are there “problem spots” for crime in the neighborhood?

    5. Are there “problem spots” for traffic?

If any of the board members would be happy to help me with these questions, it would be wonderful and I would appreciate the help. I’ll keep checking the website for updates or anyone can respond to me by email. Thank you.

      Hi Ron,
Thank you for your inquiry. I will pass on your questions to the one of the board members. They will respond to you via e-mail. We’re having a Membership Meeting this coming Tuesday, 8 November beginning at 6:30 PM at the Fountain Community Church. Please feel free to attend. It’s a potluck.
